You’ll see your biller’s name so you know your payment is going to the right place. It will appear like this: DEFT*[your billers name]
PayID is usually ready to use straight away. However, if you're using a new PayID for DEFT and you’re receiving an error, simply use a different payment method for this one-time transaction. This will activate your PayID, and you'll be all set for your future payments.
Not all billers support PayID. Check with your biller for more information.

A PayID is a piece of information such as a mobile number, email address, ABN, or Organisation Identifier, that’s linked to a bank account.
It's a fast and simple way to pay your bills issued through DEFT from your banking app or internet banking using the unique email PayID provided.
No, there are no fees charged by DEFT for making a PayID payment to your biller. You should check whether your bank charges fees for PayID payments.
Each bank set its own PayID limits. If you bank with Macquarie, check our limits here. Please refer to the DEFT PDS for limits.
PayID payments that are made on non-business days will settle the next business day. Some banks may hold PayID payments as part of their security measures. Check with your bank for more details.
There are different types of DEFT reference numbers and not all are automatically enabled for PayID. Please ask your biller how to enable PayID.

Your biller will provide you with a unique PayID to make your DEFT payments. If you get an error the first time you use this PayID, it may need to be activated first. To do this, simply make that first payment using a different method. After that, the PayID associated with your DEFT reference number will be active, and you can use it for all your future DEFT payments.
Check with your biller to confirm PayID is supported as a payment method for your DEFT bills.
