Log in to your banking app or internet banking to make a payment
Select the option to pay by PayID
Enter the unique PayID email* <DEFT Reference Number>@deft.com.au
* Provided by your biller and confirm that the name attached to the PayID matches your DEFT biller
The PayID will always follow this format: <Your DEFT reference number>@deft.com.au for example 12345678@deft.com.au
When a PayID is registered for a Short DRN, any leading zeros will automatically be omitted (e.g., DRN 000123456 becomes 123456@deft.com.au)

You’ll see your biller’s name so you know your payment is going to the right place. It will appear like this: DEFT*[your billers name]
Get your PayID. This will activate your PayID then you’ll be all set to pay.
Not all billers support PayID. Check with your biller for more information.

A PayID is a piece of information such as a mobile number, email address, ABN, or Organisation Identifier, that’s linked to a bank account.
It's a fast and simple way to pay your bills issued through DEFT from your banking app or internet banking using the unique email PayID provided.
No, there are no fees charged by DEFT for making a PayID payment to your biller. You should check whether your bank charges fees for PayID payments.
Each bank set its own PayID limits. If you bank with Macquarie, check our limits here. Please refer to the DEFT PDS for limits.
PayID payments that are made on non-business days will settle the next business day. Some banks may hold PayID payments as part of their security measures. Check with your bank for more details.
